That's right theatre fans. One of last season's most critically acclaimed shows is headed uptown. Well actually it's only moving one and half blocks, but you know what I mean. Torch Song, which won the 1983 Tony Award for Best Play, will make it's Broadway debut at the Hayes Theatre this Fall.Written by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein, the show is set to begin previews at the Hayes Theatre on October 9, with opening night scheduled for November 1. Starring Drama Desk winner Michael Urie as the unlucky in love, aspiring drag queen Arnold Beckoff, and Mercedes Ruehl as his judgemental mother Mrs. Beckoff, Torch Song is sure to be one of the most popular plays this season.
