Sad news theatre fans. One of Broadway's biggest hits is closing it's doors. Now don't worry. You still have six months to mourn until then. Kinky Boots, which won six 2013 Tony Awards including Best Musical of the Year, will play it's final performance at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on April 7, 2019.
When it closes it will have played a total of 2,507 regular performances and 34 previews. Not bad for a show that wasn't exactly a sure thing when it first opened. Truth be told I, as well as many thought that Matilda was going to take the top prize that year.
Although that show did run for almost four years, and recouped it's entire investment. By the way, for those of you who still haven't seen Kinky Boots yet, or want to see it again, you are in luck. We sell it. In fact if you call right now, you can get tickets to see the show at prices that can't be beat.
Be advised that while this "Special Offer" is good thru November 18, it is for select seats and as always subject to availability. Get your tickets to see Kinky Boots on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Until next time theatre fans.

My Thoughts On Pretty Woman The Musical
When I first moved to New York City over twenty-five years ago, I used to go to the theatre anywhere from once to twice a month. Of course it helped that I was a student at a musical theatre conservatory, and we often got free tickets to most of the Broadway shows. Off-Broadway too. In fact, the first few years I lived here, I rarely paid for a ticket.
And if I did, it was usually at a discounted or student rate. Now as we all know, Broadway is not exactly cheap these days. Just to put it into perspective, I sold a single ticket to Hamilton the other day to a client. The cost? Well let's just say that the cost of that one ticket would not only have paid my rent for one month, but have money to spare.
See? I told you it was expensive. But enough about the rising cost of theatre tickets. You came here to read my thoughts on the Broadway production of Pretty Woman. So let's get to it shall we? Last night, I attended Pretty Woman. But you probably knew that didn't you?
Now I had read the reviews before hand. Were they good? No. In fact except for a couple of them, they were some of the worst reviews that I have read in a long, long time. Of course most people forget that Wicked didn't get the greatest reviews, and it will be celebrating it's fifteenth anniversary next month. Take that critic's. Which brings us to the $64,000 question. What did I think of it?
Drum roll please.....I liked it. Was it the greatest show that I have ever seen? No. That is reserved for Rent. Which ironically played in the same theatre as Pretty Woman. I did however have a fun evening last night, and sometimes that's really all you want in a Broadway show. I know that's what I wanted, and I can assure you that's exactly what I had. FUN. You can't ask for anything more than that. Until next time theatre fans.

Fall Savings Are Here
Can you believe that the year is just about over? Well technically there are still ninety-nine days until the end of the year, but who's counting. Now Fall is my favorite time of the year. The changing of the leaves, the awesome smells like pumpkin spice and cinnamon, and of course the greatest holiday ever invented.
Give up? Why Thanksgiving of course. Plus for all you theatre fans heading to the Big Apple, this is the best time to save on some of your favorite shows. In fact as we speak, there are over thirty shows both On and Off-Broadway that are now available at some incredible savings.
I mean who doesn't love a bargain? I know I sure do. Oh and did I mention that we sell each and everyone of those shows? Well we do. Plus we are open seven days as week, 365 days a year. That means we are always here to help with all of your ticket needs. Until next time theatre fans.

Customer Story
Today's customer story comes all the way from the great state of South Dakota. Sioux Falls to be exact. A couple of days ago, I received a call from a travel agent who's client was planning a trip to Chicago next month, and wanted to see a show while they were there. What's that? You thought we only sold tickets to New York and London?
Well we don't. In fact, we sell tickets to all events around the world. Who knew? So anyway after finding out when they would be there, I asked her what her client wanted to see. Now while Chicago may not have as many theatres as we do in New York, they do have a thriving theatre scene, with a multitude of various shows and events playing year round.
I know. I know. Enough with the suspense. What show did they choose? Why none other than the musical phenomenon Hamilton. In then end I got them excellent seats in the center Orchestra, and on an aisle. Not only that, but the ticket was lower than they had seen on multiple other websites. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Acclaimed London Production Of Network Headed To Broadway Starring Bryan Cranston
"I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!" Now that quote is not from me. It is from the 1977 award winning film Network. Of course you probably knew that didn't you? The film, which won four 1977 Academy Awards, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Original Screenplay, has been adapted into a stunning new production by Tony Award winner, and Academy Award nominee Lee Hall (Billy Elliot).
Starring Emmy and Tony Award winner Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, All The Way), and directed by Tony Award winner Ivo Van Hove (A View From The Bridge, The Crucible), Network premiered at the National Theatre in London this past Spring to critical acclaim.
The Broadway production, which co-stars Emmy Award winner Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) in her Broadway debut, is set to begin previews at the Belasco Theatre on November 10, with opening night scheduled for December 6, and will play a limited engagement of eighteen weeks closing on March 17.
Tickets for the highly anticipated show have been selling thru the roof. Now that doesn't mean you can't get tickets. You may just have to spend a little more to get them. Thankfully the Belasco Theatre is not very big, so there is literally not a bad seat in the house. Get your tickets to see Network on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre. Expect the show to be a big contender at next year's Tony Awards. Until next time theatre fans.

Today's customer story comes all the way from the great sate of Pennsylvania. Bala Cynwyd to be exact. Yesterday I received a call from a travel agent who's client was planning a trip to New York at the end of this month, and wanted to see a show while they were here.
Now to be honest, most of our sales are for Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. However we do sell other shows in New York including the Metropolitan Opera. Which brings me to today's blog. As it turns out, the show she wanted to see more than anything was La Boheme, which you may recall was modernized in 1996 with Jonathan Larson's masterpiece Rent.
Which by the way I saw twenty-five times. But enough about me. Now for those of you who are not familiar with the Metropolitan Opera House, it is quite large, with six levels that seats a little under four thousand. In the end I was able to get her client excellent seats in the Orchestra, and at a price that was lower than they were expecting. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Broadway Bound Production Of Toostie Is Already Creating A Buzz
Last month I posted a blog about the eagerly anticipated new musical Tootsie. Based on the popular 1982 film, the show is currently in previews at the Cadillac Theatre in Chicago thru October 19. Now as I mentioned in my blog, Tootsie is one of my favorite films of all time. However I will admit that after reading recent articles about the show I was a little scared. After all, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Thankfully word of mouth out of Chicago looks promising, with the recent article by New York Post's resident theatre columnist Michael Riedel. Now I know that there are those out there that are not too fond of Mr. Reidel or his views. You know what? Who cares. Oh sure he may be a little controversial, and his opinion may rub some people the wrong way.
But at the end of the day, the man is there to report the news, which is what he has been doing for over twenty-five years and counting. And besides, isn't it about time that Broadway has a feel good, old fashioned type musical once again? I think so. Here's hoping I am right. Until next time theatre fans.

Bettlejuice Musical Headed To Broadway
Earlier this week I wrote a blog about the Broadway bound production of Mrs. Doubtfire. I stated that even though I was a huge Robin Williams fan, I had never seen the movie. Now here we go again, and another movie that I have never seen featuring one of my favorite actor's, is headed to the stage.
Beetlejuice, which starred Academy Award nominee Michael Keaton, is set to begin previews at the Wintergarden Theatre in March, with opening scheduled for sometime in April. Prior to it's Broadway run, the show will play at the National Theatre in Washington D.C. from October 14 thru November 18.
With a score by Australian musician Eddie Perfect (King Kong), a book by Anthony King and Scott Brown, and direction by Alex Timbers (Peter and the Starcatcher), and choreography by Connor Gallagher, Bettlejuice is sure to be a highlight of the Broadway season. So I know what you must be thinking. Who is starring in the highly anticipated new musical?
Well I'll tell you. Playing the title role is Tony Award nominee Alex Brightman (School of Rock), Sophia Anne Caruso (Lazarus) as Lydia, Tony nominees Kerry Butler (Mean Girls) and Rob McClure (Honeymoon In Vegas) as Barbara and Adam Maitland, and Leslie Kritzer (Legally Blond) and Adam Dennheisser (Rock of Ages) as Delia and Charles Deetz.
Sounds like a great cast to me. Tickets for the D.C. engagement are now on sale. Not only that, but we are selling it. No on sale date for the Broadway production has been announced. Stay tuned to this website for further updates. Get your tickets to see Beetlejuice at the National Theatre in Washington D.C. and on Broadway at the Wintergarden Theatre. Tony Award Winner The Band's Visit Recoups
Exciting news theatre fans. Last season's biggest winner has scored another victory. The Band's Visit, which won ten 2018 Tony Awards, including Best Musical of the Year, has officially recouped it's entire investment of $8.75 million dollars.
Not bad for a show that has been playing less than a year. The show which opened at the Barrymore Theatre on November 9, also won the Drama League, New York Drama Critic's Circle, Lucille Lortel, Outer Critic's Circle, for Best Musical of the Year.
Now for those of you who want to see the show, you are in luck. We sell it. Well that and every other play and musical on Broadway. Get your tickets to see The Band's Visit on Broadway at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Until next time theatre fans.

Final Week For Three Broadway Shows
That's right theatre fans. It's your last chance to see three amazing shows, as Carousel, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Gettin' The Band Back Together are set to take their final bows on Sunday September 16. Now of the three, the only one I saw was Gettin' The Band Back Together.
Was it the greatest show that I have ever seen? No. But the truth is, I had a lot of fun. And sometimes that is all you need. Now while I did not see SpongeBob SquarePants or Carousel, I have heard nothing but great things from my friends and colleagues, not to mention many of our customers.
It's always sad when shows close. However there is good news on the horizon. Between now and April, there are sixteen new plays and musicals scheduled to open, with many more expected to open as well. See that's what's so great about the New York theatre scene. There are always plenty of things to see. Until next theatre fans.

Customer Story
Today's customer story comes all the way from the "Sunshine State". That's right. I am talking about the great state of Florida. A couple of days ago, I received a call from a travel agent who's client was bringing a group to New York in December, and wanted to see a show while they were here.
Their choice? Why none other than one of this season's hottest new shows. Give up? Well if you guessed Pretty Woman: The Musical, then you would be right. So anyway after finding out when they would be here, and what they wanted to see, I asked her how many tickets she needed. As it turns out, she needed quite a few. Twenty-one to be exact. I told you it was a group.
Now due to the fact that December is one of the busiest times in New York, they knew going in that tickets might be difficult to obtain. Luckily they were looking pretty far in advance, and in the end I was able to find them excellent seats in the Mezzanine. Not only that, but they were a lot less than they had seen on other websites. So there you have it folks. Great seats, and great prices to boot. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Today Show Weatherman Al Roker To Join The Cast Of Waitress
I'll be honest, when I first heard about this my first thought was, "Who knew that Al Roker was a song and dance man?" Now all kidding aside, it's not like it's the worst idea.
After all he does have a very large fan base, not too mention the fact that the show now in it's third year, could use a little boost when sales tend to drop during this time of year. Mr. Roker, who has served as the weather anchor on NBC's Today Show since 1996, will step into the role of Ol" Joe on October 5 thru November 11.
When asked by his Today Show colleagues how he landed the job he said, " They called and asked for some reason. They want to try and shut this thing down". By the way, for those of you who want tickets to see America's favorite weatherman you are in luck. We sell it. Get your tickets to see Al Roker in Waitress on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Until next time theatre fans.

Musical Version Of Mrs. Doubtfire Headed To Broadway
Well would you look at that. Another popular movie from the 90's headed to Broadway. What will they think of next?
A few days ago, it was announced that Mrs. Doubtfire, based on the 1994 film of the same name, is headed to the Great White Way.
Now believe it or not, but I have never seen the movie. Which is strange considering how much I love Robin Williams. Oh well. Maybe I'll finally have to check it out now that they are turning it into a big splashy Broadway musical.
It was also announced, that the creative team behind Something Rotten, John O'Farrell and brothers Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick are teaming up once again for this latest film to stage adaptation. Plus four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks (Hello Dolly!) has been hired to direct.
Sounds like the show is off to a good start don't you think? As of now no theatre or production dates have been announced. Stay tuned to this website for further updates. Until next time theatre fans.

Customer Story
Today's customer story comes all the way from the "Empire State". That's right. I am talking about my home state of New York. Recently, I received a call from a new customer, who come to us via their travel agent. So anyway, he and his wife were planning a trip to New York later this month, and wanted to see a few shows while they were here.
Actually they wanted to see four shows, although I guess technically Harry Potter and the Cursed Child counts as one show, even though it's presented in two parts. Their other two choices were two of Broadway's most popular new shows. Come From Away, and My Fair Lady. Now going in, they knew that Harry Potter would be a little more difficult to obtain, as well as be more expensive than the other two.
Well as it turns out, because they were going during the week, tickets were more readily available. Not only that, but they were cheaper than they were expecting. Same with the other two shows. Great seats, and great prices too. So there you have it folks. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?
