Winner of the 2019 Olivier Award for Best Play is The Inheritance. Set in New York City following the HIV/AIDS crisis of the 80's and 90's, this two part play first premiered at the Old Vic Theatre in London in March 2018. Written by Matthew Lopez, and directed by Tony Award winner Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliott), The Inheritance is set to begin previews at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on September 27, with opening night scheduled for November 17.Now I don't know about you, but seven weeks sounds like a long preview period for a show that has been in production for over a year.
