Last month, I posted a blog about the upcoming Broadway production of Girl From The North Country. At the time, all I knew is where it was playing, and that it featured a score by music legend Bob Dyan, and a book by Tony and Olivier Award nominee Conor McPherson.Earlier today, the cast for the upcoming Broadway production was announced. And as expected, the entire Off-Broadway cast is reprising their roles, minus Stephen Bogardus, who is being replaced by Jay O. Sanders.
So who are these band of players that are recreating their original roles in this critically acclaimed production? Well I'll tell you. They are Tony Award nominees Marc Kudisch, David Pittu, and Mare Winningham, along side Todd Almond, Jeannette Bayardelle, Matthew Frederick Harris, Caitlin Houlahan, Robert Joy, Luba Mason, Ben Mayne, Tom Nelis, Colton Ryan, John Schiappa, Kimber Elayne Sprawl, Rachel Stern, and Chelsea Lee Williams.
Set in Duluth, Minnesota, during the height of the Great Depression, Girl From The North Country, tells the tale of the Laine family, owners of the local guesthouse, who's future is being threatened with foreclosure by the bank.
