Oh come on now.You knew it was going to happen eventually. It was recently announced that Hamilton, the 2016 Tony Award winner for Best Musical of the Year, is set to premier on October 15, 2021.Featuring the original Broadway company, the show was recorded at the Richard Rodgers Theatre where it continues to play to sold out audiences eight times a week.
Now while most fans were probably hoping for a movie version of the ground breaking musical, I think releasing the stage version is the better way to go. For starters it's a whole lot cheaper.
Not to mention it could take years for the film to actually happen.I mean look at Wicked. It's been playing to packed houses for over fifteen years, and the movie is finally being released in December 2021. Here's hoping it's a hit. I can guarantee Hamilton is sure to be.
