New Broadway Play The Encounter To Begin Performances This Fall

The EncounterWhat's that? A new play conceived, directed, and starring the same guy? That's got to be a first my friends. The Encounter, written by English actor and director Simon McBurney will begin previews at the John Golden Theatre on September 20, with opening night scheduled for September 29.

As of now the show is only scheduled to run thru January 8, 2017. So what exactly is the show about?Well after a little research, I found out that The Encounter takes place in 1969 in a secluded Brazilian rain forest where Loren McIntyre, a journalist from National Geographic discovers members of the Mayoruna Tribe.

Unable to communicate, and with suspicion growing, Loren and the tribes headman forge a bond telepathically. Well I'm hooked. Now in case my synopsis is not enough to convince you, I have included a few of the show's reviews for you to peruse. Enjoy!

By the way tickets for the show are now on sale. Not only that but we sell them. Plus at only eight hundred seats, there is literally not a bad view from anywhere. Gotta love that right?
