For those of you theatre lover's that might be interested in seeing a new Broadway musical about a few days in the lives of people that live in Washington Heights in New York, you are in for a real treat indeed. The show is a very hip, vibrant and modern musical about a very close-nit neighborhood at the top of the island of Manhattan, in New York City. It's a place where there is no Starbucks, where people buy their coffee from the local bodega and the people leave their windows open all the time.
The music was written by the star of the show, Lin-Manuel Miranda. In The Heights arrives on Broadway and plays its first preview performance on February 14, 2008 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. The show originally played Off Broadway at the 37 Arts Theatre and received the 2007 Outer Critic's Circle and Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Musical and was also nominated for the 2007 Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Music and Outstanding Lyrics.
