Broadway Production Of Violet Starring Tony Winner Sutton Foster To Begin Previews This Friday

That's right theatre fans. One of Broadway's most beloved stars is coming home to star in a new musical. O.K. technically Violet is not a new musical as it first premiered Off-Broadway back in 1997. However this time will mark the shows first time on the Great White Way. Now I know you didn't come here to get a history of the show.

You came here because Sutton Foster is going to be on Broadway again right? Right. Ms. Foster who was last seen on Broadway in her Tony Award winning performance in Anything Goes will begin performances in Violet at the American Airlines Theatre this Friday. Opening night is set for April 20. Now to be honest I know nothing about the show. So for those of you like me here is a brief synopsis about Violet. Enjoy!

Violet tells the story of a young woman's quest for beauty amidst the image-obsessed landscape of the 1960s. Facially disfigured in a childhood accident, Violet dreams of a miraculous transformation through the power of faith. Convinced that a televangelist in Oklahoma can heal her, she hops a Greyhound bus and starts the journey of a lifetime. Along the way, Violet forms unlikely friendships with her fellow riders, who teach her about beauty, love, courage and what it means to be an outsider.

Sounds kind of interesting don't you think? By the way for those of you looking to purchase tickets to see Violet you have come to the right place. Not only that but if you call now you can purchase tickets to see the show at prices that can't be beat. Be advised that this "Special Offer" is only good thru April 20 and as always is subject to availability. Get your tickets to see Violet at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway. Expect the show to be a big contender at this year's Tony Awards.
