Beautiful: The Carole King Musical Is Now Playing In London

Last week I wrote a blog about seeing Beautiful: The Carole King Musical on Broadway. I loved it. I mean how could you not with great music like that? Featuring over twenty-three hit songs including "Will You Love Me Tomorrow, "You've Got A Friend", "So Far Away", and of course the title song, Beautiful is one show you don't want to miss my friends. Now as much as I loved the show, I wondered how it would sell in London. After all some shows that are hits there, often fail to achieve success on Broadway, and vice versa. As it turns out, I was all worried for nothing, because the critic's loved it. Now just in case you don't believe me, check out a few of these reviews and tell me I'm not right.

But it wasn't until her personal life began to crack that she finally managed to find her true voice.

Beautiful tells the inspiring true story of King's remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history. Along the way, she made more than beautiful music, she wrote the soundtrack to a generation.
