Charlie and the Chocolate Factory In London

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory TicketsOne of my favorite movies growing up as a child was Willa Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I mean what's not to love? It has everything. Great songs. Not too mention a beautiful story that will make you laugh and cry. Oh and of course, the one and only Gene Wilder as Willie Wonka. Does it get any better than that? How about a live theatrical production of this beloved film? I'm sold. Having lived in New York for over half of my life, I often get the chance to see all of the new shows. Unfortunately Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is playing in London.

Unfortunate for me of course, but fortunate for those of you who are going to be in London. Now while I have not seen the show, I have had the chance to see several clips of the production. It looks amazing. Not too mention the music is beautiful.  In fact they even managed to squeeze in everyone's favorite song "Pure Imagination". I mean let's face it. The show wouldn't be the same without it right? Now while I'm sure you all know the story, I went ahead and included a little synopsis about the show for those of you who haven't seen the 1971 film or read the book. Enjoy!

Roald Dahl's deliciously dark tale of young Charlie Bucket and the mysterious confectioner Willy Wonka comes to life in a brand new West End musical directed by Academy Award® winner Sam Mendes. (American Beauty Cabaret) When Charlie wins a golden ticket to the weird and wonderful Wonka Chocolate Factory, it's the chance of a lifetime to feast on the sweets he's always dreamed of. But beyond the gates astonishment awaits, as down the sugary corridors and amongst the incredible edible delights, the five lucky winners discover not everything is as sweet as it seems.

Featuring ingenious stagecraft, the wonder of the original story that has captivated the world for almost 50 years is brought to life with music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman (Grammy® winners for Hairspray; Smash), a book by award-winning playwright and adaptor David Greig (The Bacchae; (Tintin In Tibet).A chocolate garden, an army of squirrels and the curiously peculiar Oompa-Loompas must be believed to be seen in this gigantic new musical that is choc-full of fantastical treats to dazzle your senses.

O.K. so now I am totally jealous of all you people who get to see it. Of course the big question is how do you get tickets? Well good news theatre fans. We sell tickets to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. As a matter of fact we sell tickets to every show in London. Who knew? Just give us a call and we will take care of the rest. It's that easy my friends. Get your tickets to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in London at the Drury Lane Theatre. Who knows? I might just have to make my way over there one of these days to see it. Until next time theatre fans.
