Downtown Sensation Hamilton Moving Uptown To Broadway This Summer

HamiltonWhat's that you say? Another big Broadway musical opening in the Summer? Is July the new April? O.K. I wouldn't go that far. Hamilton, a new musical which was a huge hit at the Public Theatre this Spring, is set to begin previews on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on July 13. Opening night is scheduled for August 6. I can't tell you how excited I am for this show. Actually I can, but that would take all day, and you have better things to do right? All I can say is that you are in for a treat my friends. Now for those of you out there who know nothing about the show, it is based on Alexander Hamilton. You've heard of him right?

Well just in case you've forgotten, just pull a $10 bill out of your wallet, and take a look at the guy on the front. That's right. It's Alexander Hamilton. Oh and just in case you didn't know, he is one of only two non-presidents to appear on a currently issued U.S. bills. Benjamin Franklin is the other one by the way. I know. I know. Enough with the history lesson. After all you came here to find out more about the show. So why not get to it? Here is a brief but informative synopsis about Hamilton for you to peruse. Enjoy!

Hamilton, is a a new musical about the scrappy young immigrant who forever changed America: Alexander Hamilton. From bastard orphan to Washington's right hand man, rebel to war hero, loving husband caught in the country's first sex scandal to Treasury head who made an untrusting world believe in the American economy, Hamilton is an exploration of a political mastermind. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Eliza Hamilton, and lifelong Hamilton friend and foe, Aaron Burr, all attend this revolutionary tale of America's fiery past told through the sounds of the ever-changing nation we've become.

Now wait a minute. I almost forgot to mention one of the biggest selling points of the show. The creator and writer of the show. The brilliant and incredibly talented Lin-Manuel Miranda. You remember him? He wrote a little show a few years ago called In The Heights that won the Tony Award for Best Musical, and turned Broadway on it's ear. Of course you did. I loved that show by the way. Now you can see why I'm so excited to see Hamilton right? What about you? Want tickets to see the show that is sure to be one of the biggest hits this season? Well you have come to the right place my friends.Just give us a call and one of our friendly ticket experts at Applause will do the rest.
