The World's Most Popular Musical Is Mamma Mia

That's right theatre fans. I said the "World's Most Popular Musical". Mamma Mia, which first premiered in 1999, has since been seen by over fifty four million people, and grossed over two billion dollars at the box office. That is why it is so popular I guess. Which is why you need to see it. Heading over to London soon, and want to see a show that will have you dancing in the aisles?

Well than Mamma Mia is the show for you. Now while I have seen the show, maybe you haven't. Which is why you might want to know a little bit about it before you purchase tickets for it right? Mamma Mia tells the story of young Sophie, who has lived her entire life on the Greek island of Calicos and is preparing to marry her fiancé, Sky. There is only one problem. Sophie wants her father (whom she has never met) to walk her down the aisle at her wedding. Without telling her mother, Donna, about her secret wish, Sophie begins snooping around to try to find some mention of his existence.

She finds entries in her mother’s old journal that name three different men that Sophie decides could be her father. She then secretly invites all three of them and signs the invitations from her mother. On the eve of the wedding, guests begin to arrive, including the three men that Sophie invited. She can’t wait to find out which of them is her actual father. Featuring over twenty-five songs from Swedish super group ABBA, Mamma Mia is one show you don't want to miss.
