Off-Broadway Favorite Dames At Sea To Make Broadway Debut In September

Dames at SeaPicture it. New York City. The 1930's. A talented, but young and naïve girl arrives with dreams of being a star. Sounds familiar right? No. It's not another revival of 42nd Street. It's actually the first ever Broadway production of Dames At Sea.

The show which was first conceived as a short sketch, loosely based on the Gold Diggers movies, first premiered in New York City's famed Greenwich Village in 1966 at Caffe Cino. That production, which ran for one hundred and forty-eight performances, featured future two-time Tony Award winner and Broadway legend Bernadette Peters.

Previews for the Broadway production are set to begin at the Helen Hayes Theartre on September 24, with opening night scheduled for October 22. Directed and choreographed by three-time Tony nominee Randy Skinner, Dames At Sea is described as a "tap-happy, navy-crazy celebration of the golden era of movie musicals with a heart as big at the ocean."

Sounds like just the kind of musical that Broadway needs right now. Tickets for the show are now on sale. Not only that, but if you call right now we can get you tickets to see Dames At Sea at prices that can't be beat. Get your tickets to see Dames At Sea on Broadway at the Helen Hayes Theatre. Until next time theatre fans.
