What's that? Two critically acclaimed plays opening in the same week. What is this? April. Just kidding. Linda Vista, the new play by Tony Award winning actor and playwright Tracy Letts, officially opened last night at the Hayes Theatre. The show, which is scheduled to run thru November 19, tells the story of fifty year old Wheeler. His marriage is over, his job is mundane, and the best years of his life appear to be behind him.

A move from the cot in his ex-wife’s garage to his own apartment opens up new possibilities for love and sex—complicated, painful and hilarious. Full of opinions, yet short on self-examination, Wheeler must reconcile the man he has become with the man he wants to be. Now that sounds like my kind of show theatre fans. So what did the critic's have to say? Let's find out.
