A rock musical about the seventh President of the United Sates? Really? I know I'm not the first person to think that it was a crazy idea. Well evidently someone thought it was a good idea as Bloody,Bloody Andrew Jackson is opening tonight on Broadway. The show which first premiered at the Public Theater last Spring began previews at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on September 20. I saw the show last week and really enjoyed myself. It's nice to see a show not based on a cartoon or a successful movie from the last twenty years. Now while I liked it I'm not sure how it will do. Yes it got great reviews during it's Off-Broadway run earlier this year and was extended three times. However that was a small theatre. I personally hope it does well. We shall see.
