London Production Of Matilda To Open On Broadway This Spring

That's right theatre fans. One of London's most successful shows of all time is set to make it's Broadway debut this Spring. Matilda, which is based on the Roald Dahl novel and the 1996 film is set to begin previews at the Shubert Theatre March 4, 2013 with opening night scheduled for April 11. Now even though I have never read the book or seen the movie for that matter I expect the show to do very well. To me it sounds like another Billy Elliot. Of course that show went on to win ten 2009 Tony Awards including Best Musical and ran for over three years. Although truth be told most people thought it should have run a lot longer.
