That's right theatre fans. We are less than six days away from this year's Tony Awards ceremony. Aren't you excited? I know I am. I have been watching the Tony Awards for almost thirty year's now, and every year they are full of surprises. Now while I have not seen every show that is nominated, I have seen most, and I can tell you that it has been an interesting season to say the least.
Leading the pack with twelve nominations this year are An American In Paris and Fun Home. Now I don't own a crystal ball, but it's pretty clear to me that both of those shows are going to be big winners by the time the show ends this Sunday. Other shows predicted to do well this year are The King and I, Something Rotten and this years most celebrated play, The Curious Incident of the Dog In The Night Time. All great shows, and all deserving.
However as we all know there can only be one winner. For the past few years I have posted my own predictions on who will win, and who I think should win. Although I usually get a few wrong it's always a lot of fun. Let's see how I do this year. Don't forget to watch this year's Tony Awards live this Sunday on CBS. Oh and just in case you didn't know it is being hosted by Broadway favorites and Tony winners Alan Cumming and Kristin Chenoweth. That alone is reason enough to watch it. Now on to my picks.
