Cynthia Nixon and Laura Linney Star in The Little Foxes on Broadway This Spring

The Little Foxes, a terrific Lillian Hellman play, considered to be one of the great dramatic classics of the 20th century, is being revived and will play New York's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre this Spring. With preview performances beginning on March 29, 2017, this revival is sure to be one of the Broadway season's most popular plays.

Two of my favorite actresses will star in this Manhattan Theatre Club production.  They are Cynthia Nixon and Laura Linney.  Ms. Nixon (Rabbit Hole, Wit) is best known for her role in Sex and the City.  She won a Tony Award for Best Actress in Rabbit Hole in 2006.  Ms. Linney (Time Stands Still, Sight Unseen) is a three-time Tony Award nominee who has played Broadway on many occasions over the years.  They both have done outstanding work on television and the big screen as well.

The Little Foxes was first performed in 1939 and tells the story of Regina Giddens and her ruthless family in 1900, and is set in a small town in Alabama.  The audience will get to witness the ongoing battle that Regina Giddens has with her sister-in-law Birdie, as they each seek control of the family business at a time when men were in charge.

Among the cast of ten extremely talented actors are Richard Thomas (The Waltons) and Michael McKeon (Laverne and Shirley).  In this revival of The Little Foxes,  Cynthia Nixon and Laura Linney will alternate roles playing Regina and Birdie.  Broadway veteran Daniel Sullivan (Proof, Rabbit Hole) will direct the play.

Right now The Little Foxes tickets can be obtained at reduced prices for all sections of the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre for just about every performance.  The show will play a very limited engagement through June 18, 2017.  Although we expect the show to receive very positive reviews from the critics, I think the reduced pricing will continue, at least for the near future.
