Today's customer story comes all the way from the "Lone Star" state. That's right. I am talking about the great state of Texas. Dallas to be exact. Yesterday, I got a call from one of my regular clients, who comes to New York with his wife a couple of times a year to go to the theatre.
Now to be honest, there aren't a lot of shows that he hasn't seen. Therefore, I knew I had my work cut out for me. Now even though To Kill A Mockingbird has been playing for over a year, he didn't get a chance to see it last time they were here. However because it had been playing for awhile, I was able to get them amazing seats in the Center Orchestra, and at a price that was lower than they were expecting.
One show down. One show to go.For show number two, they picked one of the hottest new shows to open this season. That's right. I am talking about Tina:The Tina Turner Musical. Once again, I was able to get them excellent seats in the Center Orchestra, and at a great price. So there you have it folks. Two great shows, with great seats, and of course great prices to boot. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

It was also announced that Groff will be exiting the show on January 19, and will be replaced by fellow Tony Award nominee Gideon Glick, who previously played the role for a two week engagement earlier this month.Tickets for the show have been selling like gangbusters since the show was first announced, and I expect this new batch of tickets to fly out the door too. Diana: A New Musical Now On Sale
Show of hands. Where were you when you heard the news about Princess Diana's tragic passing? I was on the corner of 44th and 7th Avenue watching the whole thing unfold on the Mega Screen at 1 Times Square Plaza.
Also known as that super tall building where they drop the ball every year on New Year's Eve. Anyway, here we are over twenty-two years later, and the life and times of the "People's Princess" is coming to the Great White Way. In fact, I'm surprised it hasn't happened already.
Diana: A New Musical, written by Tony Award winners David Bryan and Joe DiPietro, (Memphis), direction by Tony Award winner Christopher Ashley (Come From Away), and choreography by Tony Award nominee Kelly Devine (Rock of Ages), is set to begin previews at the Longacre Theatre on March 2, 2020, with opening night scheduled for March 31.
Leading the cast as Princess Diana and Prince Charles are Jeanna de Waal and Roe Hartrampf. They will be joined by Erin Davie as Camilla Parker Bowles, and two-time Tony Award winner Judy Kaye as Queen Elizabeth. Tickets for the show are now on sale. Not only that, but we are selling it. Get your tickets to see Diana: A New Musical on Broadway at the Longacre Theatre. Until next time theatre fans.

Broadway Production Of A Soldier's Play Is Now On Sale
Now to be honest until recently, I didn't know a whole lot about this show. Thank goodness for Google right? What I found out, was that A Soldier's Play, first premiered Off-Broadway by The Negro Ensemble Company in 1981, and starred an unknown Denzel Washington as Private Peterson, and Samuel L. Jackson as Private Louis Hensen.
The show, written by Charles Fuller, would go on to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, as well as the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Play, the New York Drama Critics Award for Best American Play, and the Obie Award for Distinguished Ensemble Performance. And yet despite all of these accolades, the show has never been on Broadway.
Until now. Produced by the award winning Roundabout Theatre Company, and directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon, A Soldier's Play is set to begin previews at the American Airlines Theatre on December 27, 2019, and play a limited run thru March 15, 2020. Starring in the critically acclaimed production are three-time Tony Award nominee David Alan Grier, and Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood.
So what is the show all about? I'll tell you. A Soldier's Play takes place in 1944, where an African-American Sergeant is found murdered on an Louisiana Army base. Under the leadership of a persistent attorney, secret's about the Sergeant's past begin to surface, causing the already racial atmosphere to reach it's boiling point. Sounds like a great night in the theatre to me. Get your tickets to see A Soldier's Play on Broadway at the American Airlines Theatre. Until next time theatre fans.

Broadway Production of Hadestown Recoups
Well that was fast. That's right theatre fans. After less than eight months, Tony Award winner Hadestown has recouped it's entire $11.5 million investment. The show, which won eight 2019 Tony Awards, including Best Musical of the Year, officially opened at the Walter Kerr Theatre on April 22, 2019.
About a week and a half ago, I posted a blog about how much I loved the show. Looks like I'm not the only one.It was recently announced, that the show will be embarking on a National tour set to launch in Fall 2020, with stops set for Denver, Austin, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C. among others.
By the way, for those of you who have still not seen Hadestown, you have come to the right place. We sell it. Now let me preface that a lot of the tickets for the show are sold at Premium prices. The good thing is that because the theatre is so small, even the cheaper seats are still a great view. Get your tickets to see Hadestown on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre, and in 2020 at a theatre near you. Until next time theatre fans.

Disney's The Lion King
November 13. 1997? Care to guess what happened on that date? Well if you read the title of my blog, you can probably guess that was the day that The Lion King officially opened on the Great White Way. The show, which not only won the 1998 Tony Award for Best Musical of the Year, is also the highest grossing show in Broadway history.
Pretty good for a show based on an animated film. Now those that know me, know that I'm not exactly the biggest Disney fan in the world. In fact, I've never even seen The Lion King. Not the movie, nor the Broadway show. But I'm not and idiot. Disney has been a force on Broadway ever since the premier of Beauty and the Beast in 1994.
That's twenty-five years for those of you keeping count. Now the truth is, it really doesn't matter what you think. Disney is here to stay my friends. And even though it may not be my cup of tea, I have to applaud them for their originality and the fact that their productions are always at the highest quality. Plus if it wasn't for them, most children might never get the chance to see a Broadway show. For that and that alone, they deserve the highest of the praise. Congratulations to The Lion King for thirteen amazing years on Broadway. Until next time theatre fans.

Two-Time Tony Award Winner Tootsie To Close
I can't remember the last time I was this upset about a show closing. Yes I can. It was 2008, and it was announced that my favorite show of all time, Rent, was closing after a run of twelve years. By the way, not only was it my favorite show of all time, but I saw it over twenty-five times.
Now here we are eleven years later, and another favorite of mine is closing. Tootsie, will play it's final performance at the Marquis Theatre on January 5, 2020. When it closes, it will have played a total of twenty-five previews, and two hundred and ninety-three performances.
Now while I didn't see the show twenty-five times, it is by far one of the funniest Broadway shows that I have seen in years. The truth is,that while the show got some of the best reviews of last season, it just wasn't a hit at the box office.
I mean let's face it. Not every show can be a blockbuster like Hamilton or The Lion King. Then there are shows like Beetlejuice, which I also loved by the way, that didn't get the greatest reviews, but is still selling well. That's just business I guess. Doesn't mean that I have to like it. Until next time theatre fans.

Revival Of Slava's Snowshow To Begin Performances Tonight On Broadway
Now I'll be honest, when Slava's Snowshow first arrived here in New York back in 2004, I wasn't sure what to expect. In fact, all I knew was that it had premiered in Moscow, eleven years prior, and that it was described as ,"A celebration of winter and snow, featuring a group of clowns. One green, and one yellow. "
Not exactly my type of show. Cut to 2008, and we get an invite to see the show during it's original Broadway run. That production, which played a limited engagement at the Helen Hayes Theatre, was nominated in 2009 for The Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Event, losing to the one and only Liza Minnelli.
This new production is scheduled to run thru January 5 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre. Now for those of you who want tickets to see Slava's Snowshow on Broadway, you have come to the right place. We sell it. Plus if you call right now, you can tickets to see the show at prices that can't be beat. Be advised that while this "Special Offer" is good thru December 13, it is for select seats only, and as always subject to availability. Get your tickets to see Slava's Snowshow on Broadway at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre. Until next time theatre fans.

Customer Story
Today's customer story comes all the way from the great state of Michigan. Ann Arbor to be exact. A few days ago, I got a call from a woman, who came to us via her travel agent. She was planning a trip with her daughter to New York, and wanted to see a show or two while they were here. Correction. She wanted to see three shows.
But wait. There's more. Because they were only going to be here for less than forty-eight hours, they decided to see all three shows in one day. Now I love going to the theatre, but three shows in one day? I can barely handle one a week. So anyway, after finding out when they would be here, I asked her what she wanted to see.
Her choices were the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Dear Evan Hansen, and Wicked. Three great choices right? Now because she wanted to see all three shows in one day, she knew that she would probably be running from show to show, with little time between each one. Thankfully for her, Radio City had a show at 9:00am, which meant she had four hours until Dear Evan Hansen.
Which would give her plenty of time to see the tree, a little shopping, and a bite to eat. Her third and final show, Wicked, was at 7pm. An hour and a half after Dear Evan Hansen. Plenty of time for a snack or a nice walk thru Times Square. Oh and did I mention that I was able to get her great seats for all three shows, and a rates that was lower than she was expecting. Not only that, but I was able to help her find some great places to eat while they were here. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Upcoming Revival Of West Side Story Announces Changes To Show Prior To Broadway Opening
I am at a loss for words. Trust me when I say that doesn't happen very often. It was just announced, that the new revival of West Side Story has made a few changes to this beloved musical. The show, which is being directed by Tony Award winner Ivan Van Hove, is set to begin previews at the Broadway Theatre on December 10, with opening night scheduled for February 6.
Now before I get into the new changes, I am a little confused as to why a show that opened sixty-two years ago needs eight weeks of previews. I don't know, maybe the radical changes that were announced today is why. So what are these changes you ask? Well for starters, the show which has always had a running time of about two and half hours, will now be performed without an intermission.
So what does that mean?Well if you haven't figured it out, there will be a few cuts. What cuts you ask? Oh nothing major. Just the "Somewhere" ballet, along with one of the shows most famous songs, "I Feel Pretty". I'll say it again. What? Now when it comes to revivals, I am all in favor of trying something new. After all, what's the point of doing a revival if you are not going to bring something new to it.
Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe these are the types of changes the show needs. We shall see. Now for those of you want tickets to see West Side Story, you are in luck. We sell it. Plus if you call right now, you can get tickets to see the show at some amazing prices. Be advised that while this "Special Offer" is good thru June 7, it is for select seats only, and as always subject to availability. Get your tickets to see West Side Story on Broadway at the Broadway Theatre. Until next time theatre fans.
