Broadway Revival Of Company To Begin Previews Tonight On Broadway

Company
One of my favorite shows of all time is Company. Which is why it might surprise you, that I have never seen a live production of the show. I take that back. I did see Act One of the 2007 production starring four-time Tony Award nominee Raul Esparza. Unfortunately, I got sick and had to leave during intermission. I did however see a video production of the 1995 revival at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts Library Theatre on Film Archive.

Once again. Not live. Now here we are some twenty-five years later, and I am finally going to see the show live on Broadway. Here's hoping I don't get sick again. The show, which first premiered on Broadway in 1970, is set to begin previews tonight at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on March 2, 2020, with opening night scheduled for March 22. Now for those of you like me who love the show, you've probably heard that this version is a little different than the original.

I take that back. It's a lot different actually. How you ask? Well for starters, it is now no longer about a confirmed bachelor named Bobby. No, now it is about a confirmed bachelorette named Bobbi played by Tony Award winner Katrina Lenk (The Band's Visit).  But that's not it theatre fans. Now instead of Bobby being pursued by a trio of lovely ladies named Marta, Kathy, and April, Bobbi, is pursued by a trio of charming men in the form of PJ, Theo and Andy. But wait. I'm still not done. One of the most famous songs in the show is the frantic patter song, "I'm Not Getting Married Today" sung by a neurotic bride-to-be named Amy, on the eve of her wedding to Paul. Now while Paul is still Paul, Amy is now Jamie.

Oh and it also stars two-time Tony Award winner Patti Lupone in the role of Joanne, who as I'm sure you all know sings the famous song "Ladies Who Lunch". By the way, for those of you who want tickets to see Company on Broadway, you have come to the right place. We sell it. Plus if you call right now you can get tickets to see this beloved musical at prices that can't be beat. Be advised that while this "Special Offer" is good thru June 6, it is for select seats only, and as always subject to availability. Get your tickets to see Company on Broadway at the Berard B. Jacobs Theatre. I can't wait. Until next time theatre fans.
