West End Production Of Waitress No Longer Returning Following Coronavirus Shutdown

When oh when will the insanity end theatre fans? Not anytime soon I'm afraid. Waitress, which is the latest show to be affected by this horrible pandemic, was scheduled to reopen once the hiatus was over. Sadly, that show and many other shows, will never see the light of day again. But there is still hope. Several shows, have already announced their return in the coming months. Just this week, two of the nation's leading non-for-profit theatre companies, the Roundabout Theatre and Lincoln Center Theatre, have moved their scheduled Spring productions to the Fall.

Not only that, but the Tony Award winning Paper Mill Playhouse, in Millburn, New Jersey, recently announced their 2020-2021 season, which is scheduled to begin in September with Chasing Rainbows: The Road To Oz, followed by Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, Unmasked: The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sister Act, and The Wanderer. Quite the season don't you think? Here's hoping that their season is a big success, as well as the season's of other theatre's around the world.

And that's just the beginning my friends. Before you know it, we will all be sitting in a theatre, laughing and humming along to a catchy tune. Or we will be sitting in a stadium, cheering on our favorite team. What is happening in the world right now does not define us. It will not destroy us, and it certainly will not keep us down, or make us quit. We will come back from this. And when we do, we will be stronger and bigger than before. Take care of each other, and don't forget that together, we can accomplish anything. Until next time theatre fans.
