Broadway To Return For One Night Only

O.K. Let me be clear. The Broadway theatres are not opening back up. At least not for a few weeks, or even longer. The good news is, that there are ways to see some of your favorite Broadway stars from the comfort of your own home. Yesterday it was announced, that the Emmy Award winning The Rosie O'Donnell Show, will return for a live special episode on March 22. The one night only event, that will benefit The Actor's Fund, will stream live on YouTube beginning at 7pm.

Slated to appear along side the former Tony Awards host are are Tony Award winners Stephanie J. Block, Matthew Broderick, Norbert Leo Butz, Kristin Chenoweth, Gavin Creel, Harvey Fierstein, Neil Patrick Harris, Judith Light, Audra McDonald, Alan Menken, Idina Menzel, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Kelli O'Hara, Ben Platt, Billy Porter, Chita Rivera, Lea Salonga, and Ben Vereen.

Joining them are a bevy of Broadway and television favorites, as well as celebrated composers and performers such as Sebastian Arcelus, Skylar Astin, Beth Behrs, Erich Bergen, Nate Berkus, Tituss Burgess, Darren Criss, Gloria Estefan, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, David Foster, Morgan Freeman, Megan Hilty, Lorin Latarro, Barry Manilow, Rob McClure, Katherine McPhee, Sarah Jessica Parker, Lauren Patten, Randy Rainbow, Andrew Rannells, Seth Rudetsky, Miranda Sings, Jordin Sparks, Adrienne Warren, and James Wesley.

Now that's what I call quite the lineup. As most of you recall, Rosie O'Donnell was one of Broadway's biggest champions, who frequently showcased Broadway during the show's six year run. Here is what the Emmy Award winner had to say about the upcoming one night event. "Everybody who knows me knows that Broadway has been one of the brightest lights of my life since the time I was a little girl."

"It is also been the lifeblood of New York City for generation after generation. After all Broadway has given to the world, now in this time of tremendous need, it's our turn to give something back. There is no better way to support the community than via The Actor's Fund. And with a line-up like this, I dare you not to tune in." I couldn't have said it better myself. I know where I'll be on March 22. How about you? Until next time theatre fans.
