Phantom of the Opera Turns 20

January 9th, 1988. Who would have thought that a dark, yet romantic musical about a guy in a mask would still be running, not to mention charming audiences year after year? I didn't. Sure like everyone I loved the music growing up as a kid in Illinois. Besides Les Miz it was really the only musical that I was exposed too, except of course from performing in every Rodgers and Hammerstein musical ever written in high school. But hey millions of Phantom loving fans can't be wrong right? If it wasn't for them I wouldn't be talking about this show some twenty years later. Plus if you call now Applause Theatre Service can get you tickets to Phantom of the Opera, The at an incredible savings. So what are you waiting for? The 30th Anniversary? Knowing this show I wouldn't be surprised.
