American Psycho Opens Tonight on Broadway
A few weeks ago I was able to get a few tickets for my family to see a preview performance of one of the latest shows set to open on Broadway, American Psycho. The show is selling extremely well prior to opening night. I had seen the movie a few nights before we attended the Broadway show, something I don't usually do but my son Adam said "dad I think you'll really enjoy the movie so try to watch it on Netflix before we go to the show". I really did enjoy the movie and must say that American Psycho is a really big departure from most Broadway shows playing on Broadway today. I thoroughly enjoyed it but it is not for the faint at heart as there are scenes where lots of blood are all over the stage throughout a good part of the show. Overall I really enjoyed American Psycho the Musical.
The show has been adapted from the best selling 1991 novel written by Bret Easton Ellis. The music is written by Tony Award winner Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening). The story line tells us about a Wall Street investment banker by the name of Patrick Bateman who is living a life filled with money, expensive clothes, dining at the most exclusive restaurants and status. Although he lives one life during the daytime, he chooses another one at night, which includes some of the closest people to him keep disappearing one after the other.
Cheers and best wishes to the creative and cast members of American Psycho the Musical. I personally am pulling for you all to get very positive reviews when the critics see your show tonight.
