The first stage play ever of the incredibly popular Harry Potter series of books played its first official preview performance last night in London. It is appropriately called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The play has two parts and can be seen all in one day or on separate nights, requiring two separate tickets of admission. Part Two previews tonight, June 8, 2016 as well.
So far, so good with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I just found out the two local newspapers in London, The Mirror and The Telegraph each saw the first preview performance of the show and although ordinarily the producers of any show would not want a new show to be reviewed ahead of its official opening night performance, in this case I think Harry Potter and the Cursed Child's producers will make an exception. Here's why.
The Mirror gave the show a huge "thumbs up" by giving this show "5 stars, out of 5 stars". The Telegraph raved about the show as well calling it "trickery of the highest sophistication". Could a show's producer ask for anything more?
For those people interested in obtaining Harry Potter and the Cursed Child tickets in London, right now the show is sold out for just about every preview performance of the show prior to its July 30, 2016 opening. Even though we sell tickets to all the London Shows, we are not able to secure tickets at the moment for this show. We do have every other show though. Here's an updated list of London shows.
Here are the two links to the reviews by The Mirror and The Telegraph if you have a few minutes to spare. I hope you found this post helpful. At Applause-Tickets we love the Broadway and London Theater. Let us know if we can ever help. Cheers and good luck to the cast and creative team at Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I'm sure it will become one of the most popular shows ever to play in London's West End.
