That's right theatre fans. Anastasia is coming to the Great White Way. The show which played to packed houses in Hartford this past Spring, will open at the Broadhurst Theatre on April 24, 2017.
Featuring a dynamic score by Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, and a new book by Tony winner Terrence McNally, Anastsia is sure to be a crowd favorite. So what exactly is the show about? Well I'll tell you.
Set in Paris, during the height of the Russian Empire, this new musical tells the story of Anastasia, the youngest daughter of Czar Nicholas II, who's entire family was executed by the Bolshevik secret police in 1918. However Anastasia's fate remained a mystery for many years, as the location of her burial was unknown during the Communist rule. If in fact she did survive, where could she be? I guess we'll see.
Sounds like a great night in the theatre to me. How about you? Tickets for the show are set to go on sale in the coming months, so make sure to check back here for more details.
