Shutdown Permanently Closes Broadway Production of Beetlejuice

As if yesterday's news wasn't bad enough. It was recently announced that Beetlejuice, which was scheduled to close on June 6, will no longer return due to the shutdown. There had been speculation that the show would transfer to another theatre after it's closing date. Hopefully once this is under control, they will be able to reopen again. There is some good news however, as the show is scheduled to launch it's National tour in 2021. Now I go to the theatre a lot. And when I do, I have usually read up on the show before hand, or in the case of a revival, I might have seen them before either on Broadway or somewhere else. However when it comes to Beetlejuice, I walked in blindly.

In fact all I knew, was that it was a movie that starred Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder. Which means I had no expectations. Well you know what? I loved it. Not only that, but I saw the show two more times. I guess that's why I was so upset when the show announced it was closing. Like I said, here's hoping it find's a way to return once this is over. Fingers crossed. Now as you heard yesterday, Broadway as well as Off-Broadway is shut down thru June 7. Therefore if you bought from Applause, or any other company, make sure to refer to them or your point of purchase in regards to a refund or exchange. Stay safe everyone, and continue to look out for each other. Until next time theatre fans.
