And just like that, another show is affected by this terrible virus. At least this time, it will live to see another day. Hairspray, which was scheduled to begin performances at the London Palladium on April 23, will now begin performances on September 1, with opening night set for September 8. The show, which last played in London in 2010, and won the Olivier Award for Best Musical, will play thru November 8. Reprising his Olivier Award winning performance as Edna Turnblad, is Michael Ball. Directed by Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien, and choreographed by Tony Award Jerry Mitchell, the show's original team, Hairspray is scheduled to go on sale on May 5. Here's hoping other show's follow suit and are able to postpone, as opposed to cancelling all together. Fingers crossed. Until next time theatre fans.
