New World Stages is the new face of Off-Broadway located in Times Square and under the former site of Madison Square Garden. This newly renovated underground facility and is centered on a large common lobby and gallery, with two bars, coat checks, generous bathroom facilities and a separate public lounge. With five theaters ranging in size from 199 to 499 seats. Convenient to everything and great parking located at 50th St between 8th and 9th Avenues.

It currently houses some of the biggest Off-Broadway musicals. The first of which being one of my favorites, "Altar Boyz". And we had a ball. Funny as all heck with great music! The audience eats them up!!

Altar Boyz, the new musical comedy and critically-acclaimed hit of the New York Musical Theatre Festival, is the hilarious account of a struggling Christian boy-band (with one nice Jewish boy) looking for their big break in the Big Apple. Hailed as "high-octane entertainment" (TALKIN? BROADWAY), ALTAR BOYZ tells the holy inspiring story of 5 small-town boys ? Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham ? trying to save the world one screaming fan at a time. Their pious pop act, including lyrics like "Girl You Make Me Wanna Wait" and "Jesus Called Me On My Cell Phone," worked wonders on the Ohio bingo-hall-and-pancake breakfast circuit. But when fate brings them to New York, will the boyz take a bite out of the forbidden apple?With angelic voices, sinfully spectacular dancing and a touching story, ALTAR BOYZ is destined to rock the masses of all denominations!

Celia; The Life & Music of Celia Cruz
Celia found international fame collaborating with star flautist and composer Johnny Pacheco, co-founder of Fania Records, the premier record label of ‘Salsa.’ Their huge hits included Quimbara, Toro Mata, and Canto a la Habana. These songs and others are nothing less than the soundtrack of 1970’s New York City.

Celia Cruz has also been captured in film with cameos in such motion pictures as The Mambo Kings and The Perez Family. But it is on record and in live performance where she continues to live. She has recorded with some of the biggest names from all genres of music: David Byrne, Willie Colón, Dionne Warwick, Patti Labelle, Gloria Estefan, Wyclef Jean, Angela Carrasco, Oscar D’Leon, Jose Alberto “El Canario,” la India, Marc Anthony, among many others. Celia continued to record and perform until sidelined by a brain tumor in 2002. While recovering from surgery she managed to make it in to the studio in early 2003 to record her last album, Regalo de Alma.

Celia Cruz died on July 16, 2003. The passing of this icon has left a lasting gap in Latin music and the New York cultural scene, but has certainly sealed her immortal status as the “Queen of Latin Music,” “The Queen of Salsa,” and “La Guarachera de Cuba.”

Gazillion Bubble Show

Bubble Artist Fan Yang brings his magnificent show to New York!

Over the past two decades, Fan Yang has explored the fragile and mysterious world of soap bubbles and emerged with a completely new medium, blending art and science to dazzle audiences around the globe. Hailed by David Letterman of The Late Show, as "The Greatest Bubble Artist in the World", Fan Yang's gorgeous and unique creations defy gravity and logic as we know it. He holds (and has broken his own) Guinness World records for the biggest bubble ever blown, the largest bubble wall ever created (a staggering 156 feet!), most bubbles within a bubble, and in May 2006, was able to encapsulate 22 people inside a single soap bubble on live television in Madrid. Gazillion Bubble Show is the first and only interactive stage production of its kind, complete with fantastic light effects, lasers, and jaw-dropping masterpieces of bubble artistry. Children and adults of all ages are sure to be amazed, mystified and enchanted!

Since the original Los Angeles production, and now all over the world, NAKED BOYS has always attracted an extremely eclectic audience…we've had men, women, senior citizens, mothers, fathers Rabbis, strippers, nudist groups, bachelorette parties galore and people from all walks of life. We welcome everyone!

What is the show about?

NAKED BOYS is a traditional musical revue, in the vein of Vaudeville and high-camp American musical theater. Its only point is to celebrate the splendors of male nudity in comedy, song and dance. Musical numbers range from the screamingly funny (like our sassy opening number "Gratuitous Nudity" or the circumcision-based "Bliss of a Bris") to poignant and moving numbers. There are 15 songs in NAKED BOYS - making this 65-minute tribute to the human male, fly by in a rage of laughter and nudity! Come and see it for yourself - you'll have a great time!M
