Applause Theatre-A Day in the Life of a Ticket Broker

As I come upon my 4th Anniversary at Applause I find myself wondering about the future of our business. After a near crippling strike that threatened to destroy Broadway we as an industry find ourselves at a crossroads. Can we recover and come back stronger than ever? I think we can. In fact if you look at Broadway’s December breaking records than I know we can and will into the foreseeable future. However now is not the time to rest on our laurels and hope that theatre will continue to thrive as it has in the past. If you want theatre to survive than you have to support it. And I don’t just mean Broadway. New York City is home to over 150 Off-Broadway and Off-Off Broadway theatres. But what if you can’t come to New York? Thankfully there are other ways to see your favorite shows at a theatre near you. From New York to San Francisco, to London to Toronto, Applause Theatre and Entertainment has access to shows and events nationwide and abroad.

Will 2008 be as successful as 2007? To be honest I don’t know. What I do know is that there is no better feeling in the world than sitting in a crowded theatre, surrounded by total strangers, waiting for the lights to dim and the magic begin.

Live theatre. There’s nothing like it!
