Tony Award Winner Laurence Fishburne returns to Broadway this spring in Thurgood, a one man show based on the life and momentous times of Thurgood Marshall. I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Fishburne make his Broadway debut 16 years ago in August Wilson's Two Trains Running. Back in 1992 he was known as Larry, but even then you could see he had the theatre chops to succeed. Now he is about to take on what I think is one of his greatest acting challanges to date. We all know the story of Thurgood Marshall. A descendent of slaves who was a pioneering civil rights attorney, sucessfully arguing Brown v. Board of Education before the Supreme Court, who then became a member of that exclusive body and making history as the first African-American to serve. Sounds like a winner to me. FYI Thurgood is only playing until July 20th so get your tickets now.
