"Cry-Baby", a new Broadway musical-Applause Theatre Service Has Amazing Seats

Our sources tell us that the new musical Cry-Baby will start playing on Broadway very soon. Previews will start on March 15,2008 with an opening set for April 24,2008 at the Marquis Theater in midtown. Cry-Baby is a musical based on John Waters 1990 movie which had stars Johnny Depp, Iggy Pop, Traci Lords, Ricki Lake, David Nelson, Susan Tyrell and Patty Hearst in it. Mr. Water's also wrote the film Hairspray, which has been playing on Broadway for many years now.

Cry-Baby takes place in Baltimore in 1954. Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker is the coolest and most popular boy in town. He falls in love with the "good girl" in town, who "wants to be bad". James Snyder, who is new to Broadway, will play the lead role, starring opposite Harriet Harris (Thoroughly Modern Millie) in roles that they both originated at La Jolla Playhouse when the show premiered in November 2007.

This exciting show will have music by David Javerbaum (The Daily Show) , and Adam Schlesinger (who wrote That Thing You Do) , book by Thomas Meehan and Mark O'Donnell (they both wrote the book for Hairspray on Broadway) , choreography by Rob Ashford (Thoroughly Modern Millie and The Wedding Singer) and Mark Brokaw will direct.

And for a limited time only, the show has announced special prices in honor of the show taking place in the 1950's.
