I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to seeing Fences on Broadway. Now while I enjoy August Wilson's work the main reason I want to see the show is due to it's leading man Denzel Waashington. Besides being my favorite actor he is also one hell of a nice guy. When I saw him in Julius Caeser five years ago I waited outside the theatre to get his see him. Just to let you know I am not one of those people who wait outside the stage door begging for an autograph. I just wanted to meet the man and see if he would sign the playbill for my parent's as they are big fans of him as well. The night I saw the show there must have been at least two or three hundred people waiting to see him. To his credit he stayed until he got thru the entire line. What other star do you know who does that? Anyway back to the reason for my blog. The show is set to begin previews at the Cort Theatre on April 14with and official opening set for April 26. Be advised the show is a limited engagement running thru July 11 only. Get your tickets to see Fences on Broadway.
