The Miracle Worker Plays Broadway's Circle In The Square Theater in February 2010

I am really looking forward to seeing the revival of The Miracle Worker when it plays preview performances at New York's Circle In The Square Theater on February 12,2010 prior to an official opening on March 3, 2010. The Miracle Worker originally won the Tony Award for Best Play in 1960. The show starred Anne Bancroft who took home the Best Actress Tony Award and newcomer Patty Duke, who won the Theatre World Award and was introduced to the theater and film world at that time. Both actresses went on to win Academy Awards for the roles they created when the play was turned into a big screen film.

The Miracle Worker takes place in 1880's Alabama and is the true story about Helen Keller (Abigail Breslin),who was born blind and deaf and Annie Sullivan(Alison Pill),the inspirational teacher who taught Helen how to communicate with the world. The Miracle Worker has an excellent cast including Matthew Modine (star of 50 films and getting ready for his first show on Broadway). He plays Helen's father and plays opposite Jennifer Morrisey, Helen's mother (from TV's House). Ms. Morrissey is also preparing for her Broadway debut in The Miracle Worker. The role of Aunt Ev will be played by Elizabeth Franz. Ms. Franz won a Tony Award for playing opposite Brian Dennehy in Death of a Salesman many years ago. She also has many Broadway and Off Broadway credits to her resume and was nominated for Tony Awards for her roles in Brighton Beach Memoirs and Morning's At Seven.

Right now if you think you might want to obtain tickets for The Miracle Worker with this exciting cast, consider a call to Applause Ticket Service in New York City.
