Hair on Broadway-Could it win the Best Musical Revival Tony Award?

I don't know what the original production of Hair was like but I do know this 2009 version should win the Tony Award for the 2009 Best Revival. I saw it last month and loved every minute of it. Honestly, I mean every minute, especially when one of the lovely cast members plucked me from my seat in the orchestra and asked me to dance. That was worth the price of admission right then and there.

Hair is an American rock musical which pays tribute to the birth of a new cultural and anti-war movement where the story helps us get to know a tribe of hopeful hippies all living in New York City as the Vietnam War spins out of control. The musical score was written by Galt McDermott with songs that include "Hair", "Let The Sun Shine In", "Aquarius" and "Good Morning Starshine". The book was written by James Rado and Gerome Ragni and the cast is made up of a group of wonderfully talented Broadway regulars with the addition of some newcomers who are certain to light up Broadway Shows for a long time to come. Gavin Creel plays Claude, Will Swenson plays Berger and Caissie Levy plays Sheila.

Hair is currently nominated for eight Tony Awards in 2009 including Best Musical revival. I can't see any other show beating out Hair for this highly coveted award.

Although Hair received excellent reviews, the show isn't selling all its tickets and is offering discount tickets of admission for most performances through June 14, 2009. But you should note, after the Tony Awards, it is most likely these discount offers will be discontinued. So if you think you might want to save yourself a great deal of money, give Applause Theater Service a call today at 212-307-7050 or toll free at 800-451-9930 and ask for the BELOW FACE VALUE ticket deal. We will provide the top priced seats for Hair and sell them to you at a fairly big discount. Why spend upward of $170 to $200 a ticket when you can pay only around $100?

In addition to Hair, we are pleased to offer you all the Broadway Shows as well. Just give us a call when you get a few minutes.

Rich Gladstone
