Shrek The Musical Scores With Eight Tony Award Nominations

I am so happy to report that one of my favorite shows of the season Shrek garnered eight 2009 Tony Award nominations,including Best Musical. I loved the show and I thought it was unfairly received by a lot of the New York critics when it opened last year. The good news is that regardless of what the reviews said the show is still going strong at the Broadway Theatre and should for the foreseeable future no matter what happens at the Tony Awards next month. Will it win the big one? Probably not. But I do think it has a good shot in the acting and technical categories. We shall see on June 7. Until next time theatre fans.
