In The Heights Still Going Strong On The Great White Way

One of my favorite shows of the past few years is In The Heights, the 2008 Tony Award winner for Best Musical. I had first heard about In The Heights when it first premiered Off-Broadway in the Summer of 2007 and thought it sounded interesting but by the time I got around to seeing it it had already closed. Following over six months of tweaking and revisions the show opened in March of 2008 to rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. Being a composer myself I love the fact that an original show like In The Heights has found a home on Broadway and that not only is it financially successful but has brought in a whole new audience to Broadway that has not been seen in years. I highly recommend The Heights to everyone and hope you get a chance to see this highly entertaining and moving story on your next trip to New York City.
