I was only 24 years old when I saw the 1980 huge hit movie 9 to 5. The movie had Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda in the starring roles.
The 9 to 5 story line is a cute one, where 3 women working for a sexist and ego driven boss decide to "turn the tables" on him and get even for his mistreatment of them in the work place.
The shows music and lyrics were written by Grammy-winning Dolly Parton and will be directed by multiple Tony Award winner Joe Mantello (Assassins, Wicked and Take Me Out). Andy Blakenbuehler, the Tony Award winning choreographer of last years musical of the year- In The Heights is in charge of choreography for 9 to 5 The Musical.
In addition to the fantastic array of creative talent involved in 9 to 5, we will get to see the amazingly talented Broadway Show stars- Mark Kudisch, Megan Hilty and Stephanie J. Block. Allison Janney (formerly of The West Wing) rounds out the cast.
