I've always been a big fan of Susan Sarandon on the big screen. I am pleased to report that Ms. Sarandon will appear in Eugene's Ionesco's comedy called Exit The King. Preview performances begin on March 7, 2009 with an opening night of March 26, 2009. Australian native Geoffrey Rush (Shine and Pirates of The Caribbean) will co-star. Both actors have won Academy Awards and are generating lots of excitement on Broadway this Spring. This will be Mr. Rush's first time on the Broadway stage and Ms. Sarandon's first appearance in over 25 years. Wow, how lucky can us theater fans get? 
Rounding out this exciting cast are Andrea Martin (Young Frankenstein, Candide, Fiddler on the Roof are some Broadway credits) and Lauren Ambrose (who played the role of Claire Fisher in HBO's Six Feet Under).
Exit The King tells the story of a country that has seen its better days and the King that confronts his own mortality. The play was written in 1962 and follows King Berenger I and his much too long a "reign" . The show is supposed to be "hilarious" according to the New York Post.
Exit The King will play the Barrymore Theater for a strictly limited engagement of 14 weeks only.
