"August: Osage County" Celebrates its 500th Performance as Elizabeth Ashley Joins the Cast!

One of my favorite plays in the past few years, August: Osage County, happily celebrated its 500th performance on February 3rd, 2009 at the Music Box Theatre. That's certainly a lot of drugs, fights, fish and smashed plates! All of this family fun is still being enjoyed with original cast Members Kimberly Guerrero, Sally Murphy, Troy West and Mariann Mayberry who just returned from their recent smash-hit limited run in London. And, to top things off, Tony Award winner Elizabeth Ashley joined the cast in the role of Mattie Fae sister of the great Estelle Parsons who continues her miraculous run in this monumental role at the ripe old age of 82. Also in this cast is the incredible John Cullum.
Ashley joins the cast after just recently finishing a limited critically acclaimed run in Dividing the Estate across the street at the Booth. Whew! Take a break Liz!
If you have not seen this show yet, you must. This thing won the Tony and Pulitzer Prize last year. You'll laugh, squirm and cry! You'll love it.
