Can't Wait to see Guys and Dolls on Broadway

I just read a wonderful blog posting from Todd about Guys and Dolls coming back to Broadway. It's always been one of my favorite old-time, old-fashioned classic Broadway musicals.

Guys and Dolls is a revival of a Frank Loesser musical about a bunch of "small time gamblers" and their girls. This revival is lucky enough to have Oliver Platt (a favorite movie actor of mine and a Emmy and Tony nominee as well) playing the role of Nathan Detroit and Lauren Graham, playing Miss Adelaide in the starring roles. Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys) will direct this production of Guys and Dolls.

The show has great music and includes songs many of us have heard over and over again including "Sit Down You're Rocking The Boat", "Luck Be A Lady" and "A Bushel and a Peck". If you like good old-fashioned Broadway musicals, Guys and Dolls is sure to please from everything I have heard so far.

I just got a hold of tickets to Guys and Dolls this coming Tuesday and am really looking forward to see this production. I'll report back with a review on the Applause Theatre & Entertainment Service blog shortly.
