Broadway's Newcomers

As the colder winter months in New York become a part of our past memory, my thoughts go to the Applause Theater Service phone lines playing that "old familiar tune". The sound of ringing telephones with shoppers and customers making Broadway Show inquiries and purchases.

Thanks goodness folks. Some of my past blog postings made mention of business to New York and to Broadway in general as not being "not that bad". Although we never really felt business would be "way down" for longer than a handful of weeks, it wasn't until a few days a go when I really started to realize that things seem to be really "picking up" for New York theater.

If you simply have a look at the nearly 40 Broadway Shows that will be playing performances within the next few weeks or so, its easy for those of us in the Broadway "ticket selling" end of the business to be experiencing "much busier" phone activity in our phone rooms all throughout New York. I'm sure our friendly competitors would agree.

Anyway, I thought I would drop you all a note to remind those of you wanting to see one of the newer season's Broadway Shows - what you may want to consider when making show selections this season. The new shows are all very different from one another. They are:

Billy Elliot - imported from London's West End

Guys and Dolls - a revival of one of Broadway's classics

Shrek The Musical - talk about originality

West Side Story - this season's most talked about revival

If one of these shows appeals to you and you think you want more information or possibly purchase tickets, you may call the friendly ticket experts at Applause a call. They are located directly in New York City at 212-307-7050 or toll free at 800-451-9930.

Applause staffs their telephone room seven days a week, 365 days a year. They have expert knowledge of all the Broadway shows, seating diagrams and where nice places to eat before the show are.

Give them a call, you'll be glad you did. They love to talk Broadway theater.

Sincerely,
Rich Gladstone
