I just wanted to let you know that the revival of one of August Wilson's most popular shows- Joe Turner's Come and Gone will begin playing on Broadway shortly. Performances begin on March 19, 2009.This version of Joe Turner's Come and Gone is a new production by Lincoln Center
Theater and is the second play installment that has been a part of August Wilson's(pictured to the right) ten play Century Cycle. The play is directed by Bartlett Sher.Joe Turner's Come and Gone takes place in 1911 and tells us about a man named Herald Loomis and his life. After spending 7 years at "hard labor", Herald travels North to Pittsburgh with a young daughter along. They happen to settle at a local boarding house that is filled with several characters who help Herald in his search for inner freedom.
