Fresh from a very successful and critical run in London is Enron. The show which premiered at the Chichestre Festival Theatre in July 0f 2009 is currently playing at the Noel Coward Theatre thru May 8, 2010. The Broadway production is set to be begin previews at the Broadhurst Theatre on April 8 with opening night set for April 27.This highly anticipated new show is of course based on the Enron scandal of 2001. Portraying the founder and former Chairman and CEO of the Enron Cooperation Kenneth Lay is Emmy nominee Gregory Itzin(24). Playing his partner in crime and former CEO Jeffrey Skilling is Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz.
To be honest I'm not really sure how this show will do. Now while it was very well received in London I'm not really sure how it will play here. Especially with the state the economy is in right now. Maybe I'm wrong. I hope so. Broadway could use a really good drama and from what I have read this just might be the one. I guess we will find out. Until next time theatre fans.
