One of this season's most critically acclaimed shows is Fela. The show which is based on the life of activist and musician Fela Anikulapo Kuti opened on Broadway last November to rave reviews. Prior to it's Broadway opening it had a very successful run Off-Broadway at the 37 Arts Theatre.
It's interesting to note that this was the same theatre that launched In The Heights. That show would go on to win the Tony Award for Best Musical and become one of Broadway's biggest hits.
