Now it's fourth year on Broadway is Jersey Boys. The 2006 Tony Award winner for Best Musical. Now for those of you who think you have to be a fan of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons to appreciate the show you don't. Although it certainly helps. Now going into seeing it for the first time I knew a couple of the songs but that was it. You see unlike most people I didn't see the show until two years into it's run. Yes I know it won tons of awards and was universally loved by almost everybody but I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. It just had so much hype that I thought I was going to be disappointed.
So there I sat in my seat in the last row of the Mezzanine which by the way is still a very good seat. For starters it is a very small theatre and because it is a two level set all the seats are great. No lie. Anyway the show began and I was hooked right away. Not only does it make you feel like you are at a Frankie Valli concert but the struggle these four young men went thru to achieve their dreams was both heartbreaking and inspirational. I loved it. Now for those of you who can't make it to New York to see the show have no fear. Jersey Boys is currently playing at different cities Nationwide thru the end of the year as well as London and Australia. Get your tickets to see Jersey Boys at a city near you. It is fantastic.
