Get Tickets To The Motown Revival On Broadway This July 2016

Motown the Musical is a show that I really enjoyed the first time that I saw it playing at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre a few years ago.  It was terrific then and I can't imagine this next production will not please everyone that attends the show.

Motown the Musical will be returning to Broadway beginning with preview performances on July 12, 2016 at New York City's Nederlander Theatre.  Motown the Musical will play a limited engagement for 18 weeks only but I have a feeling that the show will consider extending their engagement due to popular demand for tickets to see the show.  The show is playing in London now as well as touring around the entire United States as I write this article.

Motown the Musical celebrates the true story behind the "Motown beat".  The Motown sound managed to reach out across the racial divide many years ago in our country and touch the lives of millions of people of all backgrounds.  The leader of this new sound was a famous recording artist and music producer by the name of Berry Gordy Jr., the founder of Motown.  Mr. Gordy is credited with making stars out of Diana Ross and The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and The Jackson Five, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye and so many other incredible talented musicians.

The cast more than 30 cast members of Motown the Musical are an incredibly talented group. They've got tons of Broadway experience too.  I believe I just counted 57 songs that will be performed in the show, that's allot of music my friends.  I'm sure some of our readers remember the songs "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", "Dancing In The Streets", "My Girl", "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", and there's lots more where that came form folks.

So Motown the Musical will be a kind of "jukebox musical of the 1950's and 1960's.  With concert-like performances that will have you singing and dancing at your seats, the show will convey the racial issues that were front and center at the time.
