Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn Headed To Broadway in September 2016

Way back in 1942 Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire starred in the movie Holiday Inn.  It's always been one of my favorite all-time old movies that is fun to watch.  Holiday Inn and another movie called White Christmas was another one of my favorite movies with Danny Kaye and Bing Crosby.  Both were similarly themed films where "boy meets girl" and fall in love, sometimes even 2 couples at a time.  Sometimes there is confusion between the two films but the White Christmas movie focuses on the wintertime of year.  Irving Berlin wrote the music for both movies.  The movie Holiday Inn is the inspiration for the new Broadway musical with the same name.

This is what brings me to write today's article on what is now being called Irving Berlin's "new" musical entitled Holiday Inn.  It's already receiving lots of "buzz" in the theater community as it certainly is inspired by the movie I mentioned with the same name.

As the story goes we see Jim, who recently left show business for a quieter life living on a farm in Connecticut. Soon he realizes that he misses things the way they were in his song and dance days.  Things begin to look up at some point as Jim meets Linda, an extremely engaging school teacher who is also has incredible dance talent.  Jim's farmhouse is turned into a beautiful intimate "inn" with musical shows that celebrate each holiday theme throughout the year from Thanksgiving to Christmas.  And just when things are going along smoothly life gets much more complicated as Jim's best friend Ted tries to convince Linda to go off to Hollywood and become dance partners.

Holiday Inn the Musical has incredibly intense dance scenes, plenty of laughs as well as Irving Berlin's beautiful songs which include "Easter Parade", "White Christmas", "Cheek to Cheek", "Blue Skies" and so many others you'll soon not forget.  I'm excited as Holiday Inn the Musical should be a great year round show that celebrates life, love and the wonderful holidays throughout the year.

Holiday Inn the Musical tickets will be offered by my company Applause-Tickets, a licensed ticket service for all the Broadway shows.  Holiday Inn the Musical will begin previews on September 1, 2016 with the official opening date of October 6, 2016.  I'm looking forward to catching a preview performance of this show and really feel that Broadway has room for an old-fashioned show of this nature.  How about you, doesn't this sound like a show that might appeal to you?  If so consider giving us a call at Applause-Tickets today.  We're open 24/7 and love to talk about the theater.

Best Wishes
