That's right theatre fans. One of the U.K.'s most celebrated play's is set to return to London in a highly anticipated new production. Hobson's Choice, which first premiered in New York at the Princess Theatre, will begin previews at the Vaudeville Theatre in London on June 8. By the way the first ever London production opened at the Apollo Theatre in June 1916. That's a hundred years for those of you keeping count. Set in Salford in 1880, Hobson's Choice tells the story of local shoemaker Henry Hobson and his three daughters. Maggie, Alice and Vickey. While the daughter's spend the day minding the shop, Henry spends his day drinking with his buddies at the local pub.
While away, his eldest daughter Maggie becomes smitten with Henry's poor but talented shoemaker Will Mossop, who asks for her hand in marriage. Henry must now make a decision. Does he allow his daughter to follow her heart? Or does he risk losing everything that he holds dear in order to save his shop? The choice is his.
