Musical Version Of Groundhog Day To Premiere In The West End This Summer

Groundhog Day TicketsSo let me get this straight. The Tony Award winning creative team behind Matilda is creating a new musical based on one of my favorite movies? Count me in theatre fans. Groundhog Day, which is also based on the classic 1993 film of the same name, is set to begin previews at the Old Vic Theatre on July 1.

As of now the show is only booked thru September 17. Now I don't know about you but that doesn't sound like a very long run. Hopefully the reviews will be good and it will extend, or at least transfer to another theatre. Now for those of you that are not familiar with the movie, here is a brief synopsis to get you up to speed. Enjoy!

Set in the secluded little town of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, Groundhog Day tells the story of skeptic and Pittsburgh T.V. weatherman Phil Connors (Tony nominee Andy Karl), who is sent to cover the annual Groundhog Day. Suddenly, he finds himself caught in a never ending time loop, where he is forced to repeat the same day again and again, causing him to question his life choices and his future.

So, now that you know what the show's about, I'm guessing you are probably wondering how to get tickets right? Well do I have good news for you. We sell them. In fact we sell every play and musical in London. I bet you didn't know that did you? Tickets for the show are now on sale so don't delay. Get your tickets to see Groundhog Day at the Old Vic Theatre in London. Until next time theatre fans.
